I’ve started to try and use FreeBSD on my main workstation.
I currently have freeBSD 4.6 with gnome. My next goals are to get my video input card working and also the TV-Out working on my GForce2. This is all a learning experiance for me (working on it as a workstation) and I hope what I learn will carry over to my other *nix ventures.

Still no news on Jamaica yet. I e-mailed the Cuso office here in Halifax and they said they were still waiting on selections to interview from Jamaica so I will wait.
I set up another FreeBSD server for my uncle and have reading manuals for different software as of late. I’ve been finding it hard to learn more about code without a project goal in mind.
I’m going to sneak off to the gym for some late night endorphin release.
I’d post about the great movies I’ve been downloading but there only seems to be crap released as of late. Jason-X included.
One project that I would like to start is a ‘recently updated B2′ list on the frontpage of OuterSurf now that there are so many personal websites going up.

What does it cost and who’s paying?
The program is funded at $4.6 million per year for at least two years under the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy.
What NetCorps Provides to Participating Interns
–Transportation, food, lodgings, medical insurance and a modest monthly stipend.
–Field support and supervision are part of every internship.
–Before going abroad, interns attend a general orientation session specific to their destination.
–NetCorps coalition members offer language and cross-cultural orientation, and if necessary, help interns to develop specific technical skills required to undertake their assignment.
–Interns are provided with Canadian software applications used in education, community and economic development projects in Canada. This software can be donated to host countries if it is relevant to the work the host organization is doing.
–All interns are equipped with basic materials related to the Connecting Canadians programs offered by Industry Canada in areas such as education (SchoolNet), recycling computers for schools and libraries (Computers for Schools), public Internet Access sites (Community Access Program) and voluntary organization access (VolNet).
–Upon their return to Canada, all interns participate in debriefing sessions organized by the coalition.
–Upon returning to Canada, the NetCorps coalition provide support in finding employment, using contacts and approaches developed by Industry Canada and the coalition (e.g. Internet sources, entrepreneurship resources).
