And so the dream ends.

Caddy is DOA. It spewed transmission fluid all over Robie St. tonight. I just had it towed to Rockwood where it rests. I think it may just be a hose clamp, something minor that I actually had put in the bill of sale. But in order to get it fixed by the dealer (hopefully) I will have to take it in on Monday, when I am due to be in Greenwood for work.

Fun Fun.

Almost forgot:good tune

Here are a few pictures that from the past few weeks of my build up on the carputer. I tried running it last night when it was -20 and the HD wouldn’t run. Tried it again today with the unit warm and it booted nicely.

Cold Weather

As it turns out -20 does not fall into the operating temperature for a Western Digital hard drive. I’m not sure if there is an easy solution to this. Many people praise running the entier system off a compact flash card but that is new terratory to me (booting off such media). I think I may just wait for it to warm up a bit before I get the carputer into full swing. At the very least I have the old stereo hooked back up so I’m no worse for the wear.

See I was right….

I once said:

…my point is (in case you haven’t caught on already) that Digital Cameras should have GPS receivers in them so that the location of the picture is automatically recorded. Our data collection rates are exceeding our sorting capabilities. This blog is a prime example. Lots of people get to this page from google when they are looking for useful information, when they should be going to sites that actually provide useful information.

And now as I catch up on slashdot it seems that people have gone ahead and done this. You can check out the website (which will likey be slow for the next few days) http://www.wwmx.org.
