Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a festive break from their normal lives. Brittany has been in wonderful spirits, baking and cooking special meals; every year her family has a Tourtière, a tradition the we followed this year, enjoying the pie last night with Brian and Dawn.
It has been very refreshing to have a few days off work, for both Brittany and I. We are both now working in the city (instead of Britt’s no job and my previous job 30 minutes out of the city). We are now able to have lunch together and I can pick her up after work, small things that make the day that much better.
I will post a few photos taken over the past week here when I get a chance.

this text is also being entered on the tablet, but it is using the teat recognition. So far I think that http://linerider.ca/2.htm is the best use of the tablet so far….
Put the motorcycle away for the winter…
With the help of my father, I put the motorcycle away for the winter today. As part of it’s winterization I did the following.
- With the bike almost full of fuel, add fuel stabilizer (in my case it was about 90ml for the entire tank).
- Go for a ride, 10 minutes, long to get the engine warmed up and get the stabilizer in the carbs and fuel system
- stop by at the gas station and fill up the tank to the top and take the bike home
- once the bike is in its winter resting place, drain the oil and put in fresh oil
- spray a large amount of WD-40 or other water dispersant in the exhaust and then put a plastic bag over it with an elastic band to seal the bag to the pipe
An optional (but good) step is to drain the carbs of fuel. I haven’t figured out how to do this yet because the petcock on my bike does not have an off position, but I’m sure it can be done easily enough.
