Following in the footsteps of my uncle John I made a DIY electric jacket for my motorcycle. Last night I finally hooked up the power outlet (on a relay) to power the vest. My motorcycle has a fused AUX power output, but it is no switched (the power is always on).

I wired the relay into the harness for the running lights and then rivited a cigarette lighter plug (weather proof) under the seat of the bike and then went for a test ride. The vest gives off a nice warmth, but not so hot that I will need a variable supply for it.
