Media Portal & XBMC

The Media Portal project was a startup by developers that saw the limitations of the XBMC. Four years later people are trying to get the XBMC to work with MediaPortal (to watch TV through your xbox etc).

I just installed my XIR in my xbox so I can remotely turn it on and off. I like the thought of the xbox as a client for media portal because of it’s low power consumption, it’s fast boot time and it’s fabulous interface.

Microsoft Natural 4000 Keyboard Key Mapping Modifications

I happed to wonder if there were any enhancements to the keyboard I was using and found the following interesting links. The pages describe how to modify the key mappings of the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard, primarily to change the Zoom buttons in the middle of the keyboard to a scroll button (which is more useful to most people with good eyes).

Little Brother

Little Brother
Some time ago I had registered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Recently I was matched up with my Little Brother, who is a great guy.

I had my first activity with my Little Brother today, rock climbing, which was a lot of fun. Though I am very green to the process it seems like a lot of fun and I hope both my and my little, as they refer to the youngsters, should be able to learn a lot from spending time with each other.

Brittany
In other, sad news, I saw Brittany off at the Airport today. She is heading back to London to finish out her Bachelor of Education. We had a lovely week together (her Mach Break) and got a lot done at the ….

House
The house made tremendous progress this week with the help of Hetty & Ward’s, Brian’s, Brittany’s, and lastly my hard work. We’ve prepared the house for new insulation, part of the federal and provincial ecoENERGY program, which supports homeowners retrofitting more energy saving upgrades to their houses.

First Motorcycle Ride of the Year

I took the ZR-7S out for the first time earlier today. It was still cold out but we’ve had some heavy rain to clear the roads of salt. The roads are still plauged with large pot holes and lots of gravel, but it was great to be out on the bike again.

Hopefully all the other riders around the globe will be on their bikes soon… Annu … Danny.
